Board of Directors

In addition to the founder of the foundation as Chairman of the Board, the Board of Directors currently consists of a university professor in the field of psychoacoustics, a medical doctor with special knowledge in the field of arachnopathy and a lawyer.

The Board of Directors has the status of a legal representative and represents the foundation in and out of court. It must fulfill the will of the founder as effectively as possible within the framework of the Foundation Act and the Articles of Association. It is also responsible for managing the foundation’s assets, keeping the books and preparing the annual financial statements.

Resolutions of the Board of Directors are generally passed at meetings and by simple majority. Resolutions can also be passed in writing or by telephone, provided no member of the Board of Directors objects.

Chairman of the Board and founder of the foundation - Department of Psychoacoustics

In 1986, Professor Dr.-Ing. Klaus Genuit founded HEAD acoustics GmbH, a world-leading company in the fields of binaural signal processing and analysis, auralization of virtual environments, as well as NVH and telecommunication measurements.

In 2008, he founded the HEAD-Genuit Foundation to use his passion for acoustics for the common good and to contribute to improving the quality of life for all through soundscape research.

Furthermore, he has a strong interest in enabling chronic pain patients to have a better life through direct financial support as well as by promoting research in the field of pain therapy.

Professor Dr.-Ing. Klaus Genuit is a member of various acoustic societies, such as AES, ASA (Fellow), ASJ, SAE, DEGA, and VDI, as well as an active member in working groups of DIN and ISO for the standardization of measurement specifications and psychoacoustic parameters.

Deputy Chairwoman of the Executive Board - Finance and Legal Department

Lena Mondry obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from RWTH Aachen in 2016, focusing in depth on business and labor law. She then studied law at the Westfälische-Wilhelms-University of Münster, specializing in International and European Law.

After graduating, she worked for the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization of the United Nations in Turin and dealt with issues related to social protection in developing countries. Since June 2022, she has been employed as a legal trainee in the district of the Higher Regional Court of Cologne. As part of her legal traineeship, she spends one stage at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin in the Human Rights Policy and Humanitarian Aid Department, as well as at the internationally operating law firm DLA Piper in the field of energy law.

Prof. Dr. André Fiebig

Board member - Department of Psychoacoustics

Professor Dr. André Fiebig has been working at the Department of “Technical Acoustics” at the Technical University of Berlin since 2019. There, he is responsible for teaching and research in the areas of psychoacoustics and noise effects. From 2005 to 2018, he worked at HEAD acoustics GmbH, where he was involved in research on various topics of psychoacoustics and product sound optimization.

Currently, he is an elected member of the board of the German Acoustical Society (DEGA), active in the leadership of “International Noise Awareness Day” as a special event of DEGA, and serves as Vice President of the European Acoustics Association. His research focuses on the areas of applied psychoacoustics, extra-aural noise effects research, and soundscapes.

Dr. med. Paul Wagner

Board member - Arachnopathy department

Dr. Paul Wagner is a native of Luxembourg and received his medical license in 1980 after studying in Freiburg i.Br., Vienna, Paris, and Edinburgh.

In addition to his license in general medicine and anesthesiology/intensive care medicine, Dr. Wagner has further specializations. These include Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture, neural therapy, chiropractic therapy, transactional analysis, psychosomatic care, osteopathy, balneophysical medicine, and a specialized training in interventional pain therapy.

Besides his activity as a practicing pain therapist at the joint practice Pain Center Hochrhein in Bad Säckingen, Dr. Wagner is also a teacher of Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture as well as a teacher of Osteopathic Medicine at the German Society for Osteopathic Medicine (DGOM).

Furthermore, Dr. Wagner has been leading the Pain Therapeutic Colloquium Bad Säckingen since 1994, is a member of the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) as well as the German Pain Society (DGSS) and the German Society for Pain Medicine (DGS).
